This 1969 Yenko Super Camaro Chevy muscle car was once a bank repo job, but it is now an example of muscle car majesty.
A remarkable muscle car in its own right, this Yenko Camaro has lived a strange life, being repossessed by a bank and then finally breaking free and going up for auction.
In fact, it was the bank repo job that thrust this car back into the limelight, having been stored for several years.
This rare and remarkable survivor deserves to have its story told.

What life has this 1969 Yenko Super Camaro led?
Originally, this Camaro left the production line in Norwood, Ohio, in November 1968.
The car had formed part of Yenko Chevrolet’s COPO orders that month.
Remarkably, it led quite a nomadic life before it surfaced in the early 1990s at a Mecum auction in Indianapolis.
Freshly restored, some members of the Yenko forum online stated they remembered it on the showroom floor.

The muscle car had gone into storage in the late 2000s, before a bank repossesion brought it to life again.
At the 2008 Starbird Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the car reappeared, with dull and chipped paintwork.
Just a week later, the Camaro was listed for sale at Leake Auction.
Eventually, the Camaro made its way to Frank Payne of Flying A Restoration in Omaha, Nebraska.
This rare muscle car underwent a full restoration
Payne stripped the car down to give it a full restoration to the standard it was at before.
After years of neglect, the Camaro looked brand new again.
COPO Connection and Supercar Workshop authenticated it as a genuine Yenko muscle car.
The final step was its re-entry into the Supercar Registry.

Under the hood, this mighty muscle car has a L72 427ci V8 engine, making 425hp and 460lb-ft of torque.
As a nearly all-original COPO muscle car, if sold again at auction, it could fetch between $375,000-$500,000.
Finished in a gorgeous Fathom Green color, it’s surely one of the best examples of a COPO Camaro in America.
That alone makes it one of the most desirable muscle cars in the whole country.
