A muscle car barn find, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, that was ‘stolen’ for the right reasons, has been brought back to life and detailed by the guys at WD Detailing.
The car had stood for 20 years without running, inside a converted kitchen of a house, and its owner had pretty much given up on seeing it run again.
However, with the help of his daughter, the WD Detailing team ‘stole’ the car without him knowing to clean it up.
Not only that, but they brought a specialist in to try and get the car driving again too.

Stealing the Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was part of the plan
The 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was literally standing in the kitchen of the house.
It happened to be in front of a 1968 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon, too.
The Monte Carlo was a special-order car from a Texas dealership.
The interior, exterior color, and engine specification were all custom-ordered by the family.
Since then, it has always been a part of the family and is an original, one-owner car.

The cars are in the kitchen, as her dad always wanted to store them in the house itself.
But sadly, ill health has curtailed him from driving them, hence the dusty state of the Monte Carlo and Caprice.
With the barn find muscle car ‘stolen’ and brought to their shop, WD Detailing got to work on it.
Before being parked, the car was looked after, with the underneath of it in perfect condition despite the dirty exterior.
This slice of muscle car heaven was soon up and running again
A basic wash and clean of the wheels gives us a taste of how good this car looked come the end of the video.
We’ve seen before that WD Detailing is superb at what they do.
By the end of this cleaning process, the muscle car looked brand new.
Despite the years spent inside, covered in dust, the paintwork was in incredibly good condition.
Plus, there was no rust at all on the muscle car.
As another bonus, the team did get the Monte Carlo to fire up and drive again.
The end of the video, when the owner is reunited with the car, is a truly emotional one, and it’s a touching end to the video.
The whole family couldn’t quite believe the transformation, and the Monte Carlo barn find now looked superb.
As far as reunions go, this one with the family and muscle car heaven is one of the best we have ever seen.
