Incredibly rare 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is going up for auction and it has some visceral details

The only thing rarer than a Lamborghini Countach is a 25th Anniversary Countach.

Unveiled in 1988 for the company’s 25th birthday, the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary was a rare supercar that’s often overlooked.

It’s also super rare – only 658 were built, and very few are in this great shape.

Including this one, which is currently available on SBX Cars.

What sets the 25th Anniversary Countach apart

The 25th Anniversary was unveiled in 1988 – although this is a 1989 model – and it was characterized by a few key changes that set it apart from the ‘standard’ Lamborghini Countach.

Among other things, it had larger intake ducts, remodeled fins, a modified engine-bay cover, and a new rear bumper.

The engine is Lambo’s iconic naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V12, delivering a grand total of 420hp to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual, also paired to a limited-slip differential

It did 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and had a top speed of 183mph (295km/h).

We shouldn’t forget that this was a different time.

Today, a 25th Anniversary limited-edition would probably just come with some extra stickers and plaques.

Back then, supercar manufacturers mostly cared about the substance: they only wanted to make the supercar as fast and as technically efficient as possible.

This is what this Lambo would’ve looked like in the showroom around 35 years ago

The vehicle you see here is a low-mileage example, with 2,977 miles on the odometer.

Not exactly delivery mileage, but close.

More importantly, it is in mint condition with impeccable service history.

If you could travel back in time and walk into a Lamborghini showroom around 35 years ago, in 1989, this is what a brand-new model would’ve looked like.

Finished in Rosso Siviglia over tan leather, this Lambo is a left-hand drive vehicle, and even though it’s an EU-spec car, it is located in New Jersey.

Only 658 were ever produced, and they’re getting harder to find, especially in this condition.

The car is currently available from SBX Cars, but time is running out.

The proverbial – and in this virtual – gavel will fall on February 19, 2026.
