The Honda Civic isn’t supposed to be much more than a standard road vehicle, but this $200,000 model in Japan is anything but standard.
Japan’s reputation for fast cars is often defined by iconic models like the Nissan Skyline and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, made famous by Tokyo Drift.
But scarcely does the Honda Covic enter the group chat.
Now, one garage has given this Civic a Midas touch and made it into a $200,000 beast.

Japanese tuners create behemoth $200k Honda Civic
Honda is the reigning world champion in Formula 1 engine-making, having powered the Red Bull car that Max Verstappen drove to victory.
Now, two Japanese tuners, Spoon and Built by Legends, have collaborated on a truly one-of-a-kind Honda Civic.
Spoon is a world-recognized Tuner, having featured in the Fast and Furious franchise’s early movies and video games like Gran Turismo.

The tune oscillates around a custom-built Honda B18 C1 engine from Spoon, which really hones in on balancing and smoothness with milligram-perfect piston weights while adding much more speed than the factory engine.
Spoon also loaded in its own custom headers which lowers the motor and improves handling on the chassis.
Lightweight wheels and a carbon fiber hood were also added.
Once this was done, Built by Legends took over.
The second company added its signature lip, rear wing, and front bumper before getting hands-on with the interior.
Each strip of leather is based on Mount Fuji and is a staple of Japanese culture.
But how does it drive?
To see how it performss, the guys at Donut took the tuned beast for a spin down the famous Fuji Speedway.
With free rein on the Fuji Speedway, the car soared around the circuit, and Donut’s James ‘Jimmy’ Hilton was quickly converted to a ‘Civic boy’.

‘It’s not the fastest car,’ he confessed, but it was still quick enough for him to ‘fall in love’ with the Civic all over again.
While the Fuji Speedway is famed for its near mile-long straight, the Honda was best around corners, getting that true Japanese handling down to perfection.
Not only has Honda powered the likes of Red Bull F1, but it’s also been the focus of wild modifications like this Lamborghini Terzo Millennio custom build and a Lamborghini Aventador replica.
