This American man got to work on the ‘world’s most expensive’ 2011 Toyota Camry after his mom got herself into an accident.
After this YouTuber’s mom accidentally rear-ended a truck, her Camry was left with significant front-end damage.
Deciding to do something nice for his mom, YouTuber KCs Paint Shop invested two weeks into fixing it up.
How much work would be needed for the car to be returned to form?
Getting to work on a 2011 Toyota Camry after it got into a crash
KC Mathieu, the host of KCs Paint Shop, noted the irony of the whole situation.
“Your parents always kind of give you grief like pay attention to the road, don’t mess up, watch what’s in front of you, follow a close distance, whatever, you know,” Mathieu said.

“Well, my mom [who lives] half a block down the street, decides not to pay attention on the road, and looks to her right or left or whatever it was, and rear-ends a truck.”
That was four months previous, but Mathieu had found the time to invest in fixing the car up.
All in all, it was a two week project.
What needed fixing?
There was a whole laundry list of fixes needed on this car.
The core support needed replacing, as did the front bumper, headlights, and hood.

A new rear bumper was installed alongside a radiator, condenser, and transmission cooler.
But this wasn’t just about mending the damage wrought by the crash – this was a total makeover.
That meant the vehicle got repainted, and all dings and chips were smoothed out.
You might think that sounds like a lot, but this car has sentimental value.
Why this Toyota Camry meant a lot to this family
The car previously belonged to Mathieu’s grandmother, who passed away in 2014, three years after she bought this car brand-new.
After her passing, Mathieu’s mother inherited it.

So obviously, this car carries a lot of memories for all involved.
It’s all the more important this car was returned to top form, and that his mom is safe and well.
He did joke that this was the ‘world’s most expensive’ Toyota Camry, but no exact figure was offered up.
DIY repair jobs can get expensive fast
Mathieu is obviously an ace when it comes to car repairs, but you should always proceed with caution when taking them on.
In fact, one mechanic produced a list of five DIY car errors that could damage both your car and your bank balance.
But there have been enough YouTube success stories to prove that it can be done.
Just take the guy who carried out a DIY head gasket fix to save his family Miata as proof of that.
