Some cars don’t even make it to six figures on the odometer, but one 2014 Lexus CT 200h has just cruised past a jaw-dropping milestone: hitting one million miles.

According to a recent Facebook post from a Lexus dealership, a longtime customer stopped by with his CT 200h after the incredible achievement.

With the digital odometer maxed out at 999,999, the driver came in for an official mileage check, officially joining one of the most exclusive Lexus clubs in the world.

According to the dealership, only one other Lexus has ever had the honor of hitting one million miles: a 1996 LS 400.

How the Lexus CT 200h is hitting one million miles

The Lexus CT 200h, a compact hybrid hatchback, was never marketed as a million-mile machine, but this particular one clearly didn’t get the memo.

First introduced in 2011 and discontinued in 2017, the CT 200h combines Toyota’s proven hybrid technology (shared with the Prius) and Lexus’ focus on build quality and reliability.

With a 1.8-liter petrol engine paired to an electric motor, it was designed for fuel efficiency, not endurance racing.

However, this particular Lexus isn’t keen on retirement, so it continued going strong even after a million miles.

The dealership in Houston didn’t name the driver, but they praised him as a loyal Lexus guest who trusted the brand ‘for the long haul’ (literally so).

The post has since gained attention from car fans and hybrid enthusiasts, who were quick to point out the remarkable durability of both the vehicle’s hybrid drivetrain and Lexus engineering.

Lexus and Toyota are known for making sturdy cars

Perhaps what’s even more impressive is that there was no mention of any major drivetrain overhauls.

While most cars face serious mechanical challenges before hitting 300,000 miles, this Lexus CT 200h appears to have handled its long journey with grace.

It’s a testament to routine maintenance and rock-solid reliability.

The last time Lexus celebrated a million-mile vehicle was with the 1996 LS 400, a luxury sedan often hailed as one of the best-built cars of its era.

Now, over two decades later, a humble hybrid hatchback has matched that feat, proving that the Lexus commitment to longevity lives on across generations and vehicle types.

In fact, Toyota, which owns Lexus, is no slouch when it comes to churning out vehicles with extraordinary longevity.

Recently, a Louisiana man made headlines after he put a million miles on a Toyota Tundra for the second time.

A New Zealander also showed off his 1993 Toyota Corolla with 2 million kilometers on the odometer, with the car still running on its original engine.

If you’re a fan of buying a vehicle and driving it till it breaks, perhaps you should consider getting a Lexus or Toyota.
