The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV is here, and the all-electric truck could put an end to range anxiety thanks to its seriously impressive range.
The original Chevy Silverado was launched all the way back in 1999.
An EV model was unveiled in 2022 for the model year 2023.
Now, the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV is here and it boasts an incredible amount of range.

Just how much range does the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV have?
Range anxiety, the name given to the fear that your EV might run out of juice miles from a charging station, can be enough to put some motorists off making the switch from gas-powered to all-electric.
So much so, that carmakers are working hard to elevate the problem, with Mercedes-Benz working on the ‘holy grail’ of EV batteries, and China-based Changan Auto recently showcasing a 1,000km (620 miles) model.

While the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV can’t quite match that, it does come pretty close.
The newly released EV has a super-sized range of up to 493 miles, (793km) with the extended-range battery.
Not only that, but it can tow up to 12,500lbs (5,669kg) and hits 0-60mph (0-96km/h) in just 4.5 seconds.
Chevy has also recently introduced a Trail Boss trim that gives the Silverado EV up to 725 horsepower, 24 percent higher ground clearance than the base model, and some other neat off-roading goodies, like a Terrain Mode.
What more can you ask for?
The EV has a starting price of $54,895 for the standard Work Truck model, which has 286 miles of range.
If you’re after the Work Truck Max model, which comes with 493 miles of range, you’ll be expected to part with $76,295.
People have been left impressed by the specs
The 2026 Silverado EV has left car enthusiasts impressed.
In the Electric Vehicles subreddit folks were left reeling after clocking the impressive specs.
“493 miles of range is impressive,” wrote one.
“And [it] still qualifies for the Federal EV Tax Credit.”
Someone else commented: “493 miles of range. That’s amazing. It can also charge at 350kW.”

Another person claimed it was ‘easily the best EV truck out there’.
Which was similar to what YouTuber JerryRigEverything said when he took a Chevy Silverado EV RST on a drive from Las Vegas to Phoenix.
After taking on the mammoth roadtrip, Jerry branded the Silverado the ‘King’ of EVs.
“One of the longest range [electric vehicles] in the world is an electric truck,” he concluded.
“That range is amazing for everyday driving, I bet it’s going to be even more amazing for towing.”
