When a .50 caliber round was shot into the windows of this car, it produced a fascinating result.
This is the MASTIFF Civilian Armored Vehicle.
As its name suggests, it’s a seriously formidable set of wheels, and the above video proves it.
And what better way to test an armored car’s capabilities than by opening fire on it?

What happens when you fire a .50 caliber round at this vehicle?
One look at the MASTIFF Civilian Armored Vehicle in this footage shot by Alpine Armoring Inc tells you all you need to know about it.
It’s large and in charge, with a domineering presence you’d expect out of a military car.
Powered by a 6.7L Powerstroke V8 diesel engine, it can produce 475hp and weighs in at 11,890Ibs.

But that’s not what we’re here to talk about today.
The focus of our attention is the bulletproof windows.
In a video by Alpine Armoring, this glass was put on full display, as a .50 caliber bullet was fired directly at it.
While the glass cracked, it did not break.
And even more remarkably, somebody was sitting in the vehicle at the time of the demonstration.

Talk about having faith in a product.

These cars are seriously tough
Many people were left stunned by the bulletproof glass, and commented on their shock at the video.
“He actually wanted to be the one to sit in there and test in?!” one person asked.
“He’ll be testing shark bite suits next week,” another joked.
We’ve seen our fair share of bulletproof cars, and it’s never not impressive.
Whether it’s a car that belongs to the US President or to Bill Gates, these vehicles wow us with their resilience.
But despite that, most police cars aren’t armored for one particular reason.
And there are plenty of sturdy civvie vehicles on the market as well.
There’s the Rezvani Tank, which looks like it came straight off the lot of a Christopher Nolan Batman movie.
But some of these cars don’t even look like military-grade vehicles – just take a look at this modified BMW 7 Series for proof of that.
