The 2023 Mercedes AMG G-Class 63 is now available in four new striking colors.

Mercedes calls them the ‘Edition 55’ and the ‘Magno Hero Edition’.

Performance-wise, it is basically the same as the previous models.

Under the hood, you’ll find AMG’s all-powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, delivering 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.

Obviously, the G-Class is not exactly a featherweight but you still wouldn’t call it slow.

The top speed is limited to 149 mph but it only takes 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

Edition 55

Mercedes calls it the Edition 55 as a tribute to AMG’s 55th anniversary.

It is available in Obsidian Black and Opalis White, with aluminium wheels and custom decals.

Inside, you’ll find a festival of carbon fiber and red and black leather upholstery for the seats.

Mercedes will only make 100 units for each color, priced at around $200,000.

Magno Hero Edition – 2023 Mercedes AMG

This model is named after a special type of matt paint that Mercedes uses.

It is available in Magno Green Hell and Magno Copper Orange, and just like the Edition 55, each version is limited to 100 units.

Just like the Edition 55, the Magno Edition features 22-inch cross-spoke wheels and interior with diamond-stitched Nappa leather seats and carbon accents.

This model is a bit more expensive, priced at $212,000.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch.

The new colors are exclusively available to the 2023 Mercedes AMG in Japan.

About the G-Class

The G-Class was first launched in 1979 and is one of the most successful models in the brand’s history.

Maybe it’s because it’s been around for so long but buyers and fans adore it.

The design has never deviated far: it still looks tough but attractive.

Even though Mercedes markets it as a rugged off-roader, it also qualifies as a luxury vehicle.

The price certainly says so.

Even the cheapest model available starts at $100,000.
