A mint condition rare Camaro found in an abandoned trailer after 24 years

A mint-condition rare Camaro has been found after being locked in a semi-box trailer for 24 years, shocking the owner with its factory-level details.

As far as time capsules go, they don’t get much better than finding a car in its original state after being lost for two decades.

One lucky vintage car collector has couped an impressive 1985 IROC Z28 Camaro which has literally been lost in time.

Ken of Showtime Motorsports has showcased the stunningly rare Camaro on YouTube, and the details of its condition will blow you away.

In an upload to Powernation, Ken revealed that he found this factory-level rare Camaro in a trailer in Nashville.

While the time capsule was then covered in a thick layer of dust, after polishing it up the paintwork looked brand new.

The 1985 car had been left in the trailer for 24 years after being purchased directly from the factory.

Its odometer clocked in at 9,500 miles – standard for a brand-new car – and still had the original wrapping.

All of the interior was untouched.

Its seats, doors, and steering wheel were covered in protective plastic, while the factory chalk lined the exterior windows and mirrors.

“If you told me that they built this car yesterday in a project to bring back the 80s, I would believe you,” the Powernation presenter said.

Camaros can notoriously come in horrible conditions, making this purchase even better. On the flip side, we also found the owner of the worst Camaro in history.

For this stunning find though, the new owner has made a huge promise for its future.

With the car all polished up, cleaned, and perched inside Ken’s garage, the new owner has now pledged to keep the car in pristine condition for as long as he owns it.

Ken added, “It’s just an awesome car. There isn’t one car like it in the country. You’re never going to find a car with this low mileage and in this condition anywhere.”

“I plan on not driving it. It has 9,500 miles on it and I am not putting 10 on it.

“We have to be really careful where we put it. We’ll have to put it on the dolly to move it around.

“It’s so special. I don’t want that 1 to click over on the odometer. So we’re going to keep it at 9,500.

The rare Camaro was re-found back in 2015, and if Ken’s word is as strong as we want to believe it is, this time capsule should still be under that 10k-mile mark 40 years on from its manufacture.

It wouldn’t be the first Camaro to pass the test of time either, as this Z28 is now on its half-century birthday and still looking as good as its first.
