Group finds mysterious gate leading to lots of old US military vehicles and bunkers

A YouTuber found a disused military facility with abandoned vehicles and bunkers.

Located somewhere in the middle of the English countryside, the place is honestly quite eerie, but also fascinating.

As ever, no one knows for sure what happened.

The only thing we know is everything seems to have been left there by US armed forces.

A graveyard for abandoned military vehicles

The spooky facility was found by YouTuber VacantHaven in what he simply describes as the ‘English countryside’.

A former United States Military site, most abandoned vehicles seem to belong to the US Air Force, based on the inscriptions on the side of the vehicles.

They also found ammunition, storage bunkers and a fascinating GMC US truck, which looks like it could probably start again tomorrow if you added fuel and new tires.

The reason why military vehicles are often left behind

Civilian vehicles are left behind all the time, but that seems to happen even more frequently when it comes to military vehicles.

The reason is sometimes self-evident.

Without wishing to cite controversial episodes in recent past, a good example of this is what happened near the Chernobyl nuclear plant.

Everyone knows what happened in Chernobyl 38 years ago, but some people may not know that Chernobyl is now also a graveyard for military and emergency vehicles.

At the time, Chernobyl was part of the USSR and the scope of the disaster couldn’t be swept under the carpet, not even using every trick in the USSR’s extensive book of propaganda.

As a result, when the evacuation started, vehicles of all kinds rushed to the city of Chernobyl and the neighboring city of Pripyat.

Fire trucks, ambulance vans, first responder vehicles, and even tanks.

After that, in an attempt to protect themselves and other people from further contamination, they simply left everything behind.
