Explorers with a knack for finding hidden gems in the car world often end up making bizarre discoveries, and this $1 million Porsche Carrera GT that turned up in an abandoned dealership in China is as strange as it gets.
The iconic sports car is just sitting there, left to collect dust.
And it’s been there for quite some time too.
So, what’s the story here?

Random supercars sitting in an abandoned dealership
The YouTuber, who goes by Effspot, was traveling through South Eastern China when he made the discovery.
In a video he posted to his channel, he came across an abandoned dealership with three supercars.
They were easily visible from the street — behind huge showroom windows.
Among those was a red Porsche Carrera GT.
It was a factory new Porsche too.
A factory-new Porsche Carrera GT parked for years
The other two cars parked alongside it included a Chevy C5 Corvette Z06 and a Ferrari Superamerica.
Now an American classic like the Z06 in an abandoned Chinese dealership is also unusual, but something like a Carrera GT really makes you wonder.
After all, it’s so rare that enthusiasts jump at the opportunity to own one, just like this dad who bought a Carrera GT at a gas station on a whim.
This dealership was reportedly shut down in the early to mid-2010s, and these machines have been parked there ever since.
It’s quite surprising to think that in all those years, no one came to claim the cars.
But there’s a chance these cars might not even have an official owner.
And if that was the case, it would make sense why the Porsche was abandoned.
It’s a shame because the Porsche Carrera GT is a super-expensive ride, and only a handful of these exist today — in driveable condition, at least.
The YouTuber has a keen eye for abandoned cars.
He recently investigated LA’s abandoned supercar problem and also uncovered this abandoned Japanese supercar dealership.
