This Abu Dhabi Sheikh’s $180,000,000 superyacht Yas has $18,000,000 annual running costs, and it’s just been spotted in Monaco.
That’s right, it costs Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al Nahyan 10 percent of the purchase price to run the superyacht annually, and for a price tag as high as this, you’d expect some serious luxury.
The 141-meter vessel, called Yas, is one of the largest yachts in the world, and although it was originally a Dutch naval ship, it’s been transformed into a futuristic, glass-lined luxury palace at sea.
Now it’s turning heads in the yachting capital of the world, parked among the supercars and megayachts of Monte Carlo.

Abu Dhabi Sheikh’s superyacht has eye-watering running costs
Yas is no ordinary superyacht, because, at 463 feet long, it can host up to 60 guests in 30 cabins and has space for 56 crew members to keep things running smoothly
With a maximum speed of 26 knots, it’s both fast and extravagant – a striking combination for a vessel once designed for war, but now designed for pleasure.
The radical rebuild was handled by Koninklijke Schelde in the Netherlands with a futuristic design penned by Pierrejean Design Studio.
Its sleek glass superstructure makes it look more like a spaceship than a ship.

Spotted cruising in Monaco – the billionaire’s playground
According to a recent Reddit post on r/yachtporn, Yas has been seen gliding into Monaco, joining the world’s most elite fleet of superyachts.
The principality is already famous for its luxury lifestyle, where Bugattis, Rolls-Royces, and hypercars line the streets, and Yas fits right in as the ultimate status symbol of wealth at sea.
While the $180 million price tag is staggering, the yearly bills are just as eye-watering.
Maintaining Yas is estimated to cost around $18 million per year, so 10 percent of the full price tag at sale.
To put that even further in perspective, that’s more than $49,000 a day, just to keep the yacht afloat.
It’s pretty clear Yas will fit in very nicely in Monaco, and it stands out as a symbol of wealth and luxury among the other superyachts in the area.
