A team of mechanics in Africa used just a handful of tools to restore a 1992 Toyota Corolla GT that was stuck in the mud, a car a long way from the modern Corolla in the above video.

The channel CarTech posted a video of the restoration on YouTube. It showcases their genius in getting the car fully restored.

The team of mechanics went to great lengths to remove the engine from the car and dig it out of its location.

All of this work culminated in the Toyota finally getting back on the road again.

The mechanics disassemble the engine out in the open

Because the car was stuck in the dirt, the mechanics simply took the engine apart where it was.

The YouTube video shows them remove the cylinder covers, remove the spark plugs, and fully lift the block from the engine bay.

The team then performed complete inspections of the piston valves and the cylinder liners.

The mechanics then cleaned out water and polished up the parts.

Some of the parts looked brand new after they concluded their work.

It didn’t take long for them to reassemble the engine and get it running again, with the 1990s Corolla firing up on the first attempt.

The car had sunk quite deep into the mud, so when they tried to drive the Corolla out, it just spun its wheels.

The video of the actual work is sped up slightly. However, it clearly didn’t take the mechanics long to get the car going again.

Once the car was on the road again, they took it to what looks like an open shop.

The shop performs all sorts of work on cars, ranging from repairs to complete repaints and car washes.

The 1992 Corolla GT received more remedial work, and the mechanics took the opportunity to clean up some of the parts and touch up the bodywork.

The end results were remarkable.

The Corolla looked much fresher after a good clean and with the extra attention it had at the shop.

After that, the mechanics took the car out for a spin, and it was almost as if it was never stuck in the dirt, as it was at the start of the video.
