The Boeing VC-137C SAM 2600 used by President John F. Kennedy as Air Force One currently lives inside the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.
This means anyone can go and check it out in person.
And we all probably should because it’s a truly remarkable sight.
It’s so big it goes on forever.

An incredibly large aircraft
A TikTok user who goes by learningtheotherthings visited the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, to check out the Boeing VC-137C SAM 2600 used by President John F. Kennedy as Air Force One.
It’s impressive and massive.
And there are a few things that stand out.
First, not every corner of the aircraft is on display, and everything – literally everything, even the walls and windows – is protected by glass cases.
This is probably because they don’t want anybody to touch, damage, or steal anything.

The second thing that stands out is the size.
In the clip, the TikToker just keeps on walking forever in an aircraft that looks like it’s miles long.
The reason why Air Force One – unlike The Beast – isn’t destroyed after being decommissioned

When The Beast, the presidential limo, appeared in an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, US Secret Service agents explained a few more interesting things about it.
For starters, they explained that The Beast doesn’t travel on Air Force One.
They also explained that this bulletproof Cadillac is destroyed after being decommissioned, precisely because that’s the best and safest way to preserve its secrets.
By contrast, Air Force One doesn’t get destroyed, as we can see from the clip.
But as the agent explained, there’s a very good reason why that’s the case.
