People are calling the Airbus A400M aerial footage one of the most beautiful views in aviation history

  • Footage showed an Airbus A400M during a flight
  • The plane looked majestic in the video
  • It’s mostly because of the four propellers on the front

Aviation enthusiasts have seen their fair share of all kinds of aircraft flying, performing unusual aerial maneuvers, and whatnot — but some aircraft stand out, and this footage of an Airbus A400M flying is easily one of the best sights in aviation history.

Watching a plane flying around is certainly not an uncommon sight, but when a plane like the A400M flies, it is sure to turn heads.

After all, it’s a military aircraft and not a passenger plane, the sort that you might often see.

Airbus A400M looks great while in the air

The video, shared on the social media platform X by an account called Aviation, showed someone casually sitting on an aircraft while filming an Airbus A400M just behind it.

Let’s hit pause right here — even if it wasn’t an aircraft that looks as majestic as the A400M, the video is already unique because of the person filming it.

You don’t get to see someone relish such a view while lying down on a cargo hold every day.

In addition, when the other aircraft — that’s flying absurdly close to another plane — seems so majestic, it’s obviously a remarkable sight.

The elephant in the room is obviously the A400M’s very large propellers on the front, which most modern-day aircraft don’t really need.

It has four propellers that may look odd — but are also fascinating when they’re up and running.

With the advances in aviation tech, newer planes don’t really need these turbine-like things anymore.

Moreover, the Airbus A400M isn’t a vintage aircraft either — it’s only a little more than a decade old.

Why does it have propellers?

You see, it’s a military transport aircraft, which means that it needs to fly longer distances.

Although it’s a giant plane, and unlike even the largest passenger planes, it doesn’t need to reach high altitudes to fly longer distances.

Plus, turboprop engines — or propellers — are usually more fuel-efficient at lower altitudes.

If its appearance doesn’t please you, the Airbus A400M has several other cool tricks up its sleeve.

For instance, it can refuel another smaller aircraft in mid-air and can itself receive fuel during a flight.

It’s certainly not the first time we have seen such refuels, but it’s a convenient thing to have.

In the end, it’s an incredible view if you’re an aviation enthusiast and definitely something you don’t see every day.

Well, unless you work with military aircraft, anyway.
