An Alabama man’s pet kangaroo managed to escape, and thanks to its adventure, it managed to shut down an interstate.
Rather than the Australian Outback, the incident happened in the US state this week.
Causing alarm, the incident forced both sides of the road to halt operations and close.
However, the animal was thankfully unharmed, and order was eventually restored.

Sometimes, animals can be an inconvenience to cars
Cars can be quite an obstruction when it comes to nature and wildlife, especially with roads in remote places.
For example, one huge crocodile managed to shut down a US Navy base after it wanted to explore.
Cars can come up against it too, with one Cybertruck ending up damaged in another bizarre animal encounter.
This road rage incident, however, was all thanks to one animal and its escape plan.
A Kangaroo managed to escape in Alabama
Aptly named Sheila, the kangaroo was clearly too complacent when it came to its surroundings and fancied a change of scenery, so it conjured up an escape plan.
It was reportedly spotted jumping its way down Interstate 85, which lies between Auburn and Montgomery in the U.S state of Alabama.
The kangaroo hopping down the road caused quite an alarm, with the event having to shut down not just one, but both sides of the interstate to keep everybody safe.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency posted the news on its social media page:
“A two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, involving a kangaroo. The crash occurred in the southbound lane of Interstate 85 near the 46-mile marker in Macon County.
“Eventually, both the southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the 46-mile marker were closed while Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division, along with the animal’s owner, conducted a recovery of the kangaroo,” they said.

They shared some good news, too, that the animal wasn’t injured and the roads were reopened
The animal has now been recovered, and the roadway is back open. The kangaroo was not hurt in the crash.
Online, users had a lot to say about the ordeal
Some social media users were shocked by the event.
“Y’all HOP on that investigation,” said one user.
“He escaped, trying to get back to Australia, mate,” said another person.
