The company behind the $300,000 flying car that soared over multiple Teslas in response to the Roadster has revealed when it will finally go on sale.

Anticipating that the Roadster would get its flying demo, Alef Aeronautics put out a video showing its own flying car in action.

The company has been in the flying car business for a while now, so you can see why they might be feeling competitive.

And now they’ve revealed when it anticipates its flying car will be available to buy.

The Tesla Roadster has been all over the headlines recently

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the size of the Grand Canyon, you’ll have no doubt heard about the Tesla Roadster in recent weeks.

The moment footage of it lifting off the ground hit the internet, it became the biggest topic of conversation.

Everyone had their say on it, from the CEO OF Ferrari to Mate Rimac.

It’s no surprise really – a car appearing to fly was always going to generate headlines and get tongues wagging.

But it’s not just Tesla which has put out an airborne car.

On that front, it has some competition.

This flying car soared above several Teslas

Alef Aeronautics has been around since 2015, and had been working toward a flying car ever since it was founded.

In the build-up to the Tesla Roadster’s big reveal, the company decided to pull off a stunt of its own.

Alef used the video to ‘welcome’ Tesla to the flying vehicle space, showcasing its car flying overhead and soaring over four cars parked on the ground.

Among the vehicles was a Lexus SUV, a Cybertruck, and the original Roadster.

Alef planned the video about a month before the Tesla Roadster demo dropped, after catching wind of repots that the automaker was going to debut a flying car, Business Insider reported.

When will Alef Aeronautics be making its flying car available?

Jim Dukhovny, the CEO of Alef Aeroanutics, told the publication that they plan to start selling the cars next year.

That would put it ahead of Tesla, which will beginning production on the Roadster in 2028.

Either way, you can expect to pay a whole lot of cash for either.

While Alef’s flying car would set you back $300,000, you’d be paying a $250,000 deposit for the Roadster with the acceleration thrusters.

However, Dukhovny anticipates that prices will come down once mass-production begins.

“Once we go to mass production and once we get to the scale of automotive manufacturing, that should cost under $25,000,” he said.

The future is here – you might just need to start saving now to afford it.
