An EV expert was left shocked by US-made electric vehicle batteries, claiming that they represent a breakthrough.
EV Expert Sandy Munro was checking out batteries made in the United States, which have become the world’s highest energy-density battery.
These could set new standards for electric cars, at a time when manufacturers are looking to make them as efficient as possible.
They could rival and surpass those made by Tesla, and possibly even play a major role in the future of electric vehicle development.

Why are these American EV batteries so impressive?
EV expert Munro said that the batteries enable not only very fast charging but also a super high level of energy density.
That density is rated at 660Wh/kg (watt-hours per kilogram), which could give a range of up to 1,000 miles.
A range that high would make any form of range anxiety a thing of the past.
They come from 24m, and Munro visited the factory to take a look at these amazing pieces of technology.
If you want to recharge your car with a typical battery, it can take 20+ minutes from zero to 100 percent.
But with the 24m batteries, it could take just four minutes to add 200 miles of range to an electric car.
These new batteries can also recharge on outlets of 400 volts upwards.
Solid-state batteries have emerged as a possible alternative to regular lithium-ion ones used in electric cars.
But these are not solid state, with 24m using a new type of electrolyte called eternalyte.
These will also be able to massively increase the performance of electric vehicles in cold weather, as lithium-ion batteries dislike low temperatures.
Could America catch up to China in the electric car race?
Munro said that charging from 15 to 80 percent will take just five minutes.
That is a huge jump over what we are currently experiencing.
Much of this development will come from a need to catch up to what China is doing.

China has already produced electric cars with batteries that can recharge in a few minutes, and even be replaced easily.
The technology from 24m might not quite allow America to overtake China in the electric vehicle race.
But it could go a long way in ensuring it catches up fast.
