American woman gave up everything to live in the most minuscule car camper ever

Imagine giving up everything to live in the most minuscule car camper ever, just like this American woman has.

Kai retired early at 65 and, in order to survive on social security, she started living in her tiny 2006 Smart Fortwo.

Smart Fortwos are probably the smallest type of legal road car you can possibly get, with only two seats in total, making Kay’s feat seem almost impossible.

Despite her home only being a 100-inch-long Smart car with no toilet or shower, Kai is living life with a big smile on her face.

She’s living in the most minuscule car camper ever

You would have thought that spending your well-earned retirement living in a 100-inch 2006 Smart Fortwo would sound like a nightmare.

Kai has turned her tiny two-seater car from 2006 into the most minuscule car camper ever, as she wanted to retire early and couldn’t afford to wait until 70.

She was already a backpacker, so she knows how to multi-use every item, storing everything in her tiny car or an external 10X10 storage unit.

The Smart Fortwo comes with a tiny 10-gallon gas tank, but it achieves 55 miles per gallon, which means she can travel 500 miles per tank refill.

Is this a Smart solution for the American woman?

Despite her deeply minimalistic lifestyle, Kai actually can sleep fully stretched out, despite being 5’5″. She uses the dashboard as part of her bed setup, as well as two air mattresses and self-inflating pillows.

During the video, she talked about how she likes to lie there at night and look at the stars out of the windshield.

She uses an alcohol stove and a boiling kettle for cooking, and a ziploc bag and cat litter combine to make a handy portable toilet.

While for most people this sounds like a cramped nightmare, Kai faces each new day with her minuscule car camper with a big smile and actually seems to enjoy it.

If you want to see more about Kai’s story, head over to YouTube to see the makeshift RV in action.

We wish her many more miles of smiles in her minuscule car camper.
