Archaeologists have cracked open an ancient Egyptian pyramid that had remained sealed for thousands of years in Dahshur, Egypt.
When they got through the pyramid’s giant cornerstone, they were completely bewildered by the scene that met them.
The pyramid had remained hidden for thousands of years, buried underground and was discovered in a vast necropolis.
Their discovery left them with more questions than answers, begging the question: what other secrets lie buried just under our feet?

Mysteries of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramid
Archaeologists have explored the area of Dahshur in Egypt pretty extensively, as it is a vast necropolis of the tombs of the rich, famous and powerful back around 300BC-30BC, it is kind of the Hollywood Walk of Fame of its time.
Even though archaeologists thought they had explored all of the available pyramids left to explore in the area, they realized they had accidentally missed one.
When people had been digging in the area they discovered straight, organized limestone blocks and realized that these made up a pyramid, but it had gone unnoticed by everyone, including grave robbers for thousands upon thousands of years.
The Smithsonian Channel sent a group of archaeologists to crack open the seal, and what they found was mind-blowing.

So, what did they find?
The first thing the archaeologists discovered about this hidden ancient Egyptian pyramid was that unlike others, it was completely sealed, so sealed that even air couldn’t get in or out.
Dating back to the early 13th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, it was revealed that this tomb belonged to Princess Hatshepsut when Egyptologists decoded the hieroglyphics.

Shockingly, where the archaeologists expected to find wondrous treasures, the whole tomb had been completely ransacked of all valuables, not surprising in most tomb excavations, but shocking in a completely sealed one.
The question remained, how did someone steal from a completely sealed tomb or was someone already inside?
Unfortunately, the real answer is likely not as cool.
It’s more likely that grave robbers managed to steal all of the valuables from the tomb right before it was sealed, leaving the evidence of their crime hidden away for thousands of years.
We guess it’s probably the original pyramid scheme!
