Q by Aston Martin crafts two new specialist DB12 and Vanquish convertibles

Q by Aston Martin is one of the finest collections of bespoke cars across the industry.

With early entries boasting the likes of the Aston Martin DBR22, the one-off models have gone on to include the brand-new Thrillseeker trio that debuted at this year’s Monterey Car Week.

And let’s not forget the DB12 Palm Beach Edition.

Now, the UK manufacturer has revealed the new DB12 and Vanquish Volante duo to celebrate 60 years of the series.

Based on the original open-top Vanquish, both cars are glossed in a rich Pentland Green with Anodized Bronze accents.

Nearly identical in appearance thanks to the symmetrical luxury interiors, the only difference is what lies under the hood.

For the DB12, a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 gallops to 671hp.

But the Vanquish takes the lead on the power front, boasting a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 with 824hp, continuing the work on the recent Vanquish, which is the most powerful car the brand has ever made.

Typical of the 60th anniversary, only 60 units are being made of each vehicle.

60 years of the Volante

Of course, this is all to honor the Volante range that graced us with one of the greatest GTs in the automotive industry.

Having first been released in 1965 on the Aston Martin Short Chassis, the ‘flying’ series has moved from strength to strength, typifying the wings on the AM logo.

With the likes of the new record-breaking Vanquish falling in the Volante category,

And the future is even brighter, putting the ‘flying’ in flying cars.

For now, this new DB12 and Vanquish will parade the Valnate series for Aston Martin, as an example of pristine and precise engineering with luxury etched into every corner of the cabin.
