Aston Martin unveils new 717HP DBX GT designed for a quieter daily drive but its massive power still can outrun almost every SUV in the world

Aston Martin has unveiled a new 717hp DBX GT, which is simultaneously perfect for a quiet daily drive and outpacing basically any SUV on the planet.

This is the DBX with a softer side, while still offering up the same 717hp V8 we’ve come to expect from the SUV.

But a softer side doesn’t diminish this car’s capabilities.

If ever there was a car that could do it all, this would be a top contender.

The Aston Martin DBX GT packs quite a punch

The Aston Martin DBX first rolled out in the middle of 2020, and has remained a mainstay on the car scene since.

Now, a new iteration of the DBX is joining the automotive world – the DBX GT.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 is still there, delivering 717hp and 664 Ib-ft of torque.

Mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, it can launch from 0 to 60mph in just 3.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 193mph.

But as impressive as all of those figures are, that isn’t all this car is about.

The idea here is that this could be just as much of a daily driver as a weekend thrill.

It has a damper valve system, with settings designed to smooth out rough surfaces.

And that’s not forgetting the new-and-improved interior.

Taking a look at the updated interior

The cabin has taken things up a notch in terms of comfort, with enhanced seat cushioning and an additional thick layer of memory foam.

And the updates aren’t limited to the front seats either.

In the back, there’s extended headrests and bolsters to ensure maximum comfort.

With a touted ’13 percent improvement in articulation index’, this ensures that the outside noise doesn’t diminish having a conversation or taking a phone call on the go.

It doesn’t hurt that the exhaust is quieter in Normal mode too, although it can be restored to ‘full voice’ in Sport mode.

When can we expect to see the Aston Martin DBX GT on our roads?

It’s all sounding really good, isn’t it?

So when can we expect to see these cars gracing our roads?

Well, orders are being taken now, with deliveries expected to start rolling out towards the end of this year.

That’s only a few months of waiting left.

We can’t help but wonder who the lucky drivers will be.
