The ancient Greek city of Athens is going to get a massive superyacht marina as part of an $8 billion megacity expansion.
This marina will measure 75,000 square feet and is expected to go into full operation sometime between 2028 and 2029.
More than 400 berths will be offered, alongside a whole range of amenities.
Docking a superyacht never looked so good.

This superyacht marina is coming to Athens as part of a megacity expansion
Backed by $8.2 billion in funding, the Ellinikon Project is a huge redevelopment of what used to be an international airport area.
This plan endeavors to turn the area into a ‘smart coastal city’, complete with luxury homes, hotels, retail outlets, business hubs, and green spaces.

Oh, and a huge marina for superyachts, of course.
That being the Ellinikon Marina, also known as the ‘Agios Kosmas’, which has a ton of space for superyachts.
More than 400 berths will be available, each one measuring 262 feet long.
Full support will be on hand for superyacht owners, including fuel, maintenance, concierge, and provisioning.

This isn’t just a marina, this is a whole lifestyle.
Ellinikon will open up in stages over the next few years, with it expected to be fully open by 2029.
For now, the gallery-like space of the Experience Center gives people a sense of what’s to come, thanks to virtual exhibitions.
“It is the best way to experience the project right now, globally, that will change the way people think about smart urban development, sustainable retail, recreation, travel experiences, and coastal living for years to come,” LAMDA Development CEO Odisseas Athanasiou told Robb Report.

“On paper, Ellinikon ticks many boxes. It places superyachts within a short hop of the Cyclades, links directly to Athens’s international transport hubs and folds high-end urban leisure around the docks,” Benjamin Maltby, the world’s leading superyacht lawyer, who also heads-up The Owners Club (www.theownersclub.org), told Supercar Blondie.
“Add in endless mythic ruins, and Ellinikon starts to whisper sweetly in one’s ear.
“But for every owner seduced, there will be another who prefers the tried-and-tested glitter of established Mediterranean playgrounds like Cannes, Porto Cervo or Palma.
“Service quality and tax friendliness – not architects’ renderings – will decide whether Ellinikon becomes a magnet for American superyacht owners and their wallets.”
Nothing says luxury living quite like a huge ship
Let’s face it – if you want to show that your city is a draw for the rich, superyachts lined up in the harbor is a great way to demonstrate that.
Whether it’s owned by the owner of Ferrari or being upstaged by a Ferrari in Monaco, these vessels exude expense.

We can’t help but wonder which yachts will be docking up in the Ellinikon in the years to come.
Perhaps one feature will be the Orient Express, due to set sail in June 2026?
