This custom 1967 Pontiac GTO Twisted cost so much to make that each horsepower is worth $1,090.
The stunning custom-built Pontiac was created by Sean Smith Designs and took around two years to complete.
It began life as an already-impressive 1967 Pontiac GTO but was given a full transformation to create a real one-off.
Now, the multi-award-winning car is set to go under the hammer.

The one-off 1967 Pontiac GTO Twisted is an absolute beast
The Pontiac GTO was first released back in 1963 with an original production run that lasted until 1974.
Due to their popularity, you still see examples popping up across the US today, like this one that has had just one owner since 1967 or this 1970 model that was unearthed in a barn in Tennessee.

However, while there are still plenty out there, there’s only one 1967 Pontiac GTO Twisted.
The custom car took two years to build and cost an estimated $1.2 million, which works out at around $1,090 for each of its 1,100 horsepower.
The car was built by legendary customizer Sean Smith Designs and sits on an IRS C6 Corvette-based Roadster Shop chassis.
It’s been finished in BMW Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic and features a handmade stainless steel trim that is plated in nickel.
The car doesn’t look too far off the original GTO but features some minor changes to the front and rear bumpers, as well as kitting it out with new EVOD aluminum wheels.
Inside, the interiors have been finished to a top-notch standard featuring plenty of soft leather contrasted with nickel and billet aluminum that has been painted to look like dark wood.

It’s also been given a bit of a tech update and now features a phone charging pad and some USB ports.
But it’s under the hood where the most dramatic changes have taken place.
The car is now equipped with a powerful 427 cubic inch LS7/Dart V8 engine with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger that can crank out 1,100 horsepower.
Impressive stuff.
The one-off car is looking for a new owner
The car, which took two years to create, was debuted at the 2023 SEMA show and went on to win a handful of awards, including at SEMA, Goodguys, and The Grand National Roadster Shows.

But after pouring a couple of years and more than a million into the custom build, the 1967 Pontiac GTO Twisted is now up for sale.
It will go under the hammer on Saturday, August 16, as part of Monterey 2025.
