This stunning 1960 Bentley S2 Continental Drophead Coupé once belonged to Pink Panther star Peter Sellers and is set to go under the hammer this week.
Bentley introduced the S2 back in 1959 as a successor to the S1.
Alongside the original S2, Bentley also launched the high-performance S2 Continental.
One of which was snapped up by the late actor and comedian Peter Sellers, and now it’s on the lookout for a new owner.

The Bentley once belonged to Peter Sellers
The 1960 Bentley S2 Continental Drophead Coupé was originally purchased in May 1960 by a man called L E Lawrie.
By November of 1961, the Bentley had 8,000 miles on the clock and was bought by British star Peter Sellers.

Sellers was a big car enthusiast who was happy to pay to have the vehicle maintained by Jack Barclay.
He also oversaw the Bentley’s conversion to quad headlamps in 1962.
Barclay also introduced other modifications, including a ‘smoke glass mirror with longer arm, allowing you full movement of the sun visor’ which is still in the Bentley today.
“Sellers was notorious for getting bored with his cars and quickly moving them on, but, unusually, kept his Bentley Continental for the best part of five years,” the listing on Bonhams Cars reads.
It was sold in July 1966 and has been well looked after and maintained since.
The car is almost entirely original, however, the listing does note that the hood and carpets appear to have been replaced at some point.
The car is finished in Sand with Beige leather upholstery and is in incredible condition.
It also comes with some additional goodies, including a signed poster of Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther, original press cuttings about the star, and an original movie poster or his 196 flick The Wrong Arm of the Law.

The vehicle is set to go under the hammer at the Goodwood Revival: Collectors’ Motor Cars and Automobilia on September 13.
The Bentley S2 Continental Drophead Coupé is an extremely rare car
The Bentley S2 Continental is an extremely rare vehicle, combining luxury, exclusivity, and old-school British craftsmanship.
The carmaker produced just 388 examples, but the one previously owned by Sellers is rarer again.
It is one of just 60 right-hand drive models ever made.
Add to the fact that it has a famous previous owner, and it’s expected to sell for a tidy sum at auction.
Bonhams Cars has put an estimate of between £100,000 and £120,000 – around $135,200 and $162,300.
