This Californian man bought a Tesla Cybertruck for $102,000, put just 800 miles on the clock, and attempted to sell it, but failed to attract bids of more than $69,500.

The 2024 Cybertruck Foundation Series model comes with the standard Stainless Steel exterior and a black interior.

It was bought by its owner in March 2024.

However, a little over a year and 800 miles on, the owner is hoping to sell.

The Tesla Cybertruck was bought new for more than $100k

While almost all cars depreciate after purchase, EVs are often hardest hit

Take this 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60, for example; it was bought for $131,945 and sold a couple of years on for just $57,751, or this Ford Mustang Mach-E, which was bought for $72,590 but was valued at $31,000 two years later.

And it seems to be a similar story for the owner of this Tesla Cybertruck.

He bought the dual motor truck new in March 2024 and has only lightly used it, putting just 800 miles on the clock.

It comes with 20-inch wheels, a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 15-speaker sound system.

The Cybertruck also comes with a clean history, was serviced back in January, and – thanks to age and relatively low mileage –  is in great shape.

However, when the owner recently listed it on Cars & Bids, the EV failed to sell.

In total, it received just 24 bids, with the highest being $69,420 – but this wasn’t enough to meet the reserve, so the auction ended without success.

Tesla recently ditched its cheapest Cybertruck model

Last month, Tesla quietly killed off its cheapest Cybertruck

The Cybertruck Long Range Rear Wheel Drive was released back in April and came with a starting price of  $69,990, making it $10,000 cheaper than the All-Wheel Drive variant.

However, just six months on, the model was removed from the Tesla sales website.

With the cheapest Cybertruck model no longer available, those hoping to get their hands on a new truck can choose from the AWD or the Cyberbeast.

The standard AWD costs $79,990, while the Cyberbeast will set you back $114,990 after its price was recently increased by almost $15,000.
