Ferrari has sold the one-of-one car that it wasn’t planning to build for $26 million, which is 10x its original price.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 599+1 went up for auction and stole the show at Monterey Car Week.
Going for $26 million, it is now one of the most expensive modern cars ever sold at auction.
The car was first unveiled back in 2021, but this particular car was a one-off.

This Ferrari went for 10x its original price at auction
Back in 2021, Ferrari rolled out the Daytona SP3 599, with clients shelling out $2.25 million for the V12-powered hypercar.
And boy have these cars gotten up to a lot since then, whether it’s being driven by Jay Leno or drifting around corners.
Now, four years later, the Italian manufacturer has brought out one more SP3 to auction off during Monterey Car Week.

Branded the Daytona SP3 599+1, the proceeds from the car’s sale would benefit the Ferrari Foundation.
Seeing as how this car was one-of-a-kind, there was understandably a lot of hype around it.
Content creator Captain Crankshaft was at Monterey Car Week and got a close look at it.
“I think this is going to go for well over $20 million,” he said.
He was in the room when the auction took place, and his jaw nearly hit the floor when the bids started rolling in.

“There’s a bidding war of numbers that I can’t even fathom,” he declared.
In the end, the car went for $26 million – a figure that Captain Crankshaft described as ‘nuts’.

This wasn’t just the priciest SP3 in history – it also had some additional features that its counterparts didn’t.
The car has been given a tailor made makeover, including a bold carbon fiber and Giallo Modena finish, with ‘Ferrari’ running down its center.

Its interior is decked out in a fabric created from recycled tires, whilst the dashboard and steering column are built from the same carbon fiber used in Ferrari’s Formula 1 SF-25 race car.
The car’s V12 engine produces 829hp and 514 pound-feet of torque, capable of pushing it from 0 to 62mph in 2.85 seconds.
