Carefully created by Ostermeier’s Gullwing Cars company, the car is simply stunning.

Now, we’ve all seen some replica cars, but we doubt you’ve seen any as impressive as this.
Enter this Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing replica, but it isn’t just any faux-car; it’s enough to give any real Mercedes a run for its money.

The car was produced by Tony Ostermeier’s Gullwing Cars of Garden, California, and the exterior really does speak for itself, with the level of detail, luxury, and accuracy poured into every aspect.
“The fiberglass and aluminum laminate bodywork is finished in silver over a welded square-tube steel chassis, and power comes from a 3.0-liter M103 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission,” states the listing on Bring A Trailer.
But that’s not all.
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing replica also has ‘running gear sourced from Mercedes-Benz’ among other equipment, including a tilt-forward steering wheel, and a Bosch electronic fuel injection.
“The cabin features low-back bucket seats trimmed in brown leather, with color-coordinated upholstery that extends to the dashboard, door panels, and sills,” further explained the auction listing.

Plus, the odometer shows that the car has 4,800km, which equals out to less than 3,000 miles on the clock, with the listing explaining that just ‘approximately 800 were added by the selling dealer’.

Unfortunately, though, after being put up for auction and receiving 36 bids, the reserve of $430,000 was not met.
And, thanks to the substantial price tag, its cost rivals the $430,000 Ferrari Purosangue, but let’s not forget that the Ferrari is the real deal.
This Mercedes-Benz is simply a replica, with real parts.
Mercedes-Benz has some impressive inventions
Mercedes-Benz is a brand that gearheads all know and love, with the oldest car manufacturer practically inventing the car scene in the 1880s.
And thanks to its deep-rooted history, the company is still at the forefront of innovation.
For example, the manufacturer is doing American muscle the German way with the new E53 AMG Hybrid.
Plus, we bet you didn’t know that the world’s coolest concept car is the Mercedes AVTR that ‘breathes’ and isn’t driven using a steering wheel.
