Audi Activesphere review

Inside the world’s most technologically advanced concept car, the Audi Activesphere.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano was just flown by helicopter to a top-secret location in the mountains of Austria to get an exclusive look at the Activesphere.

And the tech built into this vehicle is absolutely bonkers.

First, Sergi was given special glasses.

These glasses allow you to see an augmented reality that combines the physical and virtual worlds.

With a wave of his hand, the steering wheel and dashboard completely disappear.

Audi actually incorporated augmented reality into the drive too.

With the glasses on, a topographical map brings up traffic routes and weather information right in front of your eyes.

And you can control almost everything in the car with your eyes and hands.

To choose a song, you just have to point to it, and the same goes for climate control.

By rotating your hand right or left, you can turn the temperature up and down.

And to switch between autonomous mode and drive mode, you use your hands to call the steering wheel to you.

Once you have the wheel in front of you, the augmented reality glasses show you a gauge cluster.

Design

This car is a Sportback SUV, offroader, and pickup truck all in one.

One of its most incredible features is found at the back of the car.

With the touch of a button, the sportback transforms into a pickup truck.

The glass panel slides up and the trunk extends out, creating room for two bikes, skis or even an eFoil.

The car is also fitted with what look like teeth at the front and back.

These enable the car to rise and lower by 40cm.
