A rotary-swapped Lambo. A quad-turbo Commodore. And a guy with a Holden, ChatGPT and a laptop.

That was the setup at Friday Night Drifts in Australia, where local YouTuber Spotto entered a flame battle with a Holden ute he tuned using AI.

Armed with nothing but dodgy spark plug wiring and ‘possibly a kill map’ from ChatGPT, Spotto’s ute – dubbed Lump stick – went head-to-head with two of the wildest builds in the country.

It all came together in under 24 hours, but how well did it work?

The AI-generated tune that could’ve blown up his Holden

With less than a day to prepare, Spotto turned to ChatGPT to write a tune file for his SS Commodore Ute, despite admitting he had no idea what he was doing.

He used HP Tuners to upload the AI-generated code, which was designed to dump excess fuel at high RPM.

Then he wired up spark plugs in the exhaust, added one-way air valves for extra oxygen, and installed a two-step limiter.

The goal? Flames. Big ones.

He connected everything to manual switches mounted in the dash – limiter, spark plugs, and ignition cut – then crossed his fingers. The result? A flamethrower on wheels that lit up the night and didn’t blow up.

At least, not yet.

Spotto’s team were party crashers

This wasn’t a pro build. Spotto’s Holden is a mishmash of HSV and Maloo parts, wired together with help from his mate Alex, who had his own cars to prep.

They cut corners, cut holes, and skipped features like a working reverse camera just to make deadline. Most of the parts were bought secondhand or cheap off eBay.

But that didn’t stop them from crashing the flame battle, showing up uninvited.

Mike Lake’s rotary Lambo and Jason Ferron’s quad-turbo Commodore may have had pro tunes and serious money behind them – but it was Lump Stick’s flaming chaos that turned heads.

Whether it won or not didn’t matter. Spotto tuned a fire-spitting race car with AI in under a day. And it didn’t explode. That’s a win.
