A baby has inadvertently discovered a neat travel hack after she was born mid-flight on an EgyptAir plane and got a free lifetime travel ticket.
Passenger Hiyam Nasr Naji Daaban was aboard the EgyptAir flight MS777 from Cairo to London in September 2020 when she realized she had gone into labor.
The quick-thinking pilot decided to divert the flight to Munich, Germany.
But the baby girl seemingly had other plans and was born mid-flight with the help of a doctor on board.

We all love a little travel hack that helps us to maximize travel while sticking to a budget, like the one from this frequent flier who went viral after sharing a little-known way to rack up Air Miles without any extra effort.
However, one little girl who was born mid-flight on an EgyptAir plane to London won’t ever need to worry about seeking out hacks, tips, and tricks, as she was given a free lifetime travel ticket from the airline – but there’s a bit of a catch.

The incident unfolded back in September 2020, when pregnant passenger Hiyam Nasr Naji Daaban went into labor.
Although the pilot attempted to make an emergency detour to Munich, Germany, to get the mom-to-be to the hospital before the birth, things didn’t quite go to plan, and the baby girl was born on the plane with the help of an onboard doctor.
To mark the birth, EgyptAir announced the baby would receive a free lifetime travel ticket, but it appeared to only cover Munich flights.
“Rushdi Zakaria, Chairman of the Holding Company for Egypt, congratulated the passenger Hiyam Nasr Naji Daaban, a Yemeni national, for her safety and granting her newborn a free lifetime travel ticket, which she gave birth on board the plane during the EgyptAir flight yesterday from Cairo to London,” EgyptAir wrote in a post on X.
“Pilot Amr Abu Al-Nayin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Misr Aviation Company, stated that it is our pleasure to receive a new customer to Egypt to fly to the world on board our plane and we are also pleased to present her with a souvenir to celebrate with her family and to give her a free ticket for life on Munich flights.”
A few lucky people have unlimited travel tickets
You’ve probably heard about Tom Stuker, the man who paid United Airlines $290,000 for a lifetime airline pass back in the 1990s and has since flown more than 24 million miles.

Stuker said the ticket was the best investment of his life and alongside his unlimited travel racked hundreds of thousands of frequent flier miles, which he uses to upgrade his travel.
However, you might not be aware that there are a couple of airlines that still offer unlimited ‘All You Can Fly’ passes, including WizzAir and Frontier – but there are some caveats.
For example, WizzAir’s 12-month pass costs the equivalent of $620 and includes one free flight, while every flight thereafter will cost you around $11. Unfortunately, you can only book flights three days before departure.
