Indian automaker Mahindra unveils its Batman BE 6 EV that was inspired by Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight

Indian automaker Mahindra has unveiled its new Batman BE 6 EV, a limited-run electric vehicle inspired by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
Mahindra is one of the most prolific EV manufacturers in the world, and the BE 6 SUV is one of its most well-known models, but it has decided the time is right to spice the car up a bit.
Inspired by The Dark Knight, the limited-edition EV aims to bring a bit of American flair to the SUV.
It sounds like quite an unlikely combination; however, the end result has certainly added some flair to the Mahinda EV.

The Batman BE 6 EV is the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV
In its press release launching the EV, Mahindra has said that it is the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired electric vehicle.
Upon first glance, the most notable aspect is the Batman decals on the front doors.
The legendary superhero himself is prominently placed to remind us of what this car is about.
Mahinda has also launched a new, custom satin black color just for the Batman Edition.
Around the back of the car is The Dark Knight rear badging, which reads ‘BE 6 × The Dark Knight.’
Other exterior features include the Infinity Roof with the Bat emblem projection and carpet lamps with the same emblem.
Alchemy Gold-painted suspension and brake callipers provide a nice contrast to the black bodywork.
The special edition BE 6 is based on the top-of-the-range version of the electric car.
That means it has a 79kWh battery pack, with 340 miles of range and a rear-mounted motor with 282hp and 280lb-ft of torque.
The interior has also received Batman-inspired changes
Mahinda has also given the BE 6 quite a revamp inside, too.
For one, there is a brushed alchemy plaque on the dashboard, finished in gold with numbering.
Mahindra has also embossed The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem across parts of the interior.
This includes the ‘boost’ button, seats, interior labels, and more.
While it is an EV, the company hasn’t let this get in the way of the car making some noise.
The BE 6 has Batman-inspired exterior engine sounds, just for a little bit of fun.
It is a tasteful upgrade of the electric SUV, and it’s certainly going to prove popular in India.
Currently, Mahinda plans to produce just 300 units of the special edition Batman BE 6.
