Mahindra has launched production versions of its BE 6e and XEV 9e crossover coupe-SUV all-electric models and they look like they’ve come from the future.

The two new EVs have slick modern exteriors and are packed with advanced technology.

The Indian-based carmaker unveiled five concept vehicles back in 2022, which appear to have been the inspiration for these new models.

The BE 6e and XEV 9e are set to be delivered to dealerships next year.

The Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e have striking designs

As interest grows, more and more marques are keen to invest in their EV offerings, including Rolls-Royce which has reportedly committed to having an all-electric line-up by 2030. Even muscle car maker Dodge is getting in on the all-electric trend with its upcoming Dodge Charger Daytona EV.

Meanwhile, Mahindra has launched its flagship Electric Origin SUV series, which includes these two new futuristic-looking beauties.

The XEV 9e is the larger of the two cars measuring 4,790mm (188.6 inches) long and boasts a cool-modern look.

The slightly smaller BE 6e measures 4,371 mm (172.1 inches) and has striking sharp lines, slimmed-down headlights, and a more aggressive stance.

Under the hood, the EVs are powered by a single electric motor that produces either 228 horsepower or 282 horsepower, depending on the trim.

The beefier of the two powertrains is capable of 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in around 6.7 seconds.

The interiors look like they’re straight out of a sci-fi movie

Inside, the cars look like something from a science-fiction movie.

The BE 6e has dual 12.3-inch screens with an augmented-reality display, a cool flat-bottom steering wheel, and some customizable ambient lights around the center console.

The XEV 9e has three 12.3-inch screens and an illuminated ‘Infinity’ glass sunroof.

The larger of the two vehicles also makes use of premier materials and is kitted out with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

They also come with very attractive price tags: the BE 6e is set to start from $22,400 and the XEV 9e is priced at $25,900.
