American billionaire Gabe Newell, most famous for producing some of the best video games in the world alongside the unrivaled Steam platform, has just taken delivery of a $300,000,000 superyacht that is every gamer’s dream.
Everyone dreams of their own space, and when it comes to man caves, you can toss a coin between an esteemed personal library or a gaming dungeon.
Typical of his businesses that made him into the richest video game personality in the world, Gabe Newell has now unlocked the man cave achievement in a wild side quest.
With enough cable to wrap from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, this $300M nerdy paradise is called Leviathan.

This $300M superyacht is a gamer’s paradise
Estimated to be worth $11 billion, Gabe Newell, aside from his proficiency in video games, is an avid superyacht enthusiast.
Since the pandemic, he’s taken his consoles and gone to sea, spending most of his life aboard a range of different boats that he owns.
But his latest is everything he could ever dream of and more.
Leviathan, made by Oceanco, is a $300M, 111-meter beast that doubles as a stunning vessel filled with luxury, and an esports centre made for the most degenerate of gamers.
Featuring a hospital and science lab, a cinema, and a room with 15 dedicated state-of-the-art PC gaming stations, it’s one of the weirdest and most tech-laden boats ever made.

“We knew we were asking for unusual things, and Oceanco embraced it with open arms,” Newell said.
“Not only have we designed a very unusual yacht that leans into Oceanco’s strengths of innovation and design, but the team has also been willing to collaborate with us on evolving the process.”
Newell didn’t go all tech-heavy, though, and included a number of other great luxury additions, such as a basketball court on the upper deck.
And to top it off, like a credit reel at the end of his legacy game, every worker on Leviathan had the name etched into the main stairway.
“From the very start, we knew nothing about her would be done in a traditional way,” Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout added.
“We were welcomed into the team alongside Gabe and everyone who would ultimately be involved in operating her. It is this level of collaboration that sets Leviathan apart from anything we’ve built before.”
Docking first in Poole, UK, the Dutch boat will be making the trip across the Atlantic to Newell’s home in Seattle.
How Gabe Newell became the ultimate gaming billionaire
After enrolling in a computer programming course back in high school, he moved on to Harvard University to continue his studies.
However, this was short-lived, as he took up a position at Microsoft, where he helped produce the first three renditions of Windows.
But his taste of gaming came after he worked on a Windows port for the first-person shooter title Doom. Having learned from Microsoft’s approach, he left and formed Valve.
The company is now recognized as the biggest PC gaming platform and game designer ever, boasting titles such as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Dota, and Portal.

His spin-off, Steam, is now the leading launcher and marketplace for PC titles, supporting every major franchise from Call of Duty to GTA.
Newell has since become the godfather of PC gaming.
Now, he can invite a full lobby to click heads on Counter-Strike at 3pm and all be scuba diving by 3:30.
That’s quite the flex.
