A billionaire doctor with an impressive supercar collection, which includes a McLaren and a Ferrari, has named his trusty Tata Nexon.ev as his favorite.

Cardiologist Dr. Shriram Nene has the sort of car collection most of us could only dream of.

Amongst the gems stashed away in his collection are a Ferrari 296 GTS, a McLaren 750S, and a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

However, when it comes to his favorite, Dr Nene has a far more humble choice – and he’s revealed why.

He praised the low cost of running the Tata Nexon.ev

Dr Nene, who is married to Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit, regularly shares clips of his enviable car collection on Instagram.

While many gearheads might not be able to prise themselves away from a Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the lightning-fast McLaren 750S, Dr Nene says his favorite car to drive is the Tata Nexon.ev.

“The Tata Nexon.ev is my favorite car, believe it or not,” he said in a clip uploaded to Instagram this week.

“It’s small, goes everywhere you want it to go and it’s dirt cheap to run.

“And it’s so under the radar that no one bothers you.”

Of course, Dr Nene isn’t the first EV owner to rave about the lower costs of running an all-electric vehicle compared to a gas-powered one.

But as well as being cheaper to run, the Tata Nexon.ev comes with a super-low price tag of around $14,300.

He’s been left ‘impressed’ by the EV

Tata revealed the Nexon.ev in 2019.

The all-electric offers a range of up to 312km (194 miles) and can be fully charged in under eight hours.

There’s also a DC 25 kW fast-charging option that can take the car from 0 to 80 percent in just one hour.

When Dr Nene took delivery of the EV back in 2022, he admitted to being ‘so impressed with the car, the charging infrastructure, and the ride’.

He said the ‘user experience’ of driving the Nexon was ‘amazing’. High praise indeed.

While the Nexon is Dr Nene’s perfect daily driver, elsewhere in his Instagram post he revealed that it was his super-fast Porsche 911 GT3 RS that he preferred when track driving – dubbing it a ‘track monster’.

Fair enough – we can’t really argue with that.
