Black Pearl is a 350-foot sailing yacht that’s nearly as large as Jeff Bezos’ Koru.
It costs a fortune, too.
This $200 million superyacht has estimated annual upkeep costs in the region of $20 million, and if you want to charter you’re going to have to fork out seven figures per week.
And yet, despite the astronomical cost, this is still one of the least expensive superyachts in the world.

Black Pearl is further proof that superyachts aren’t for the faint of heart
Launched in 2016, Black Pearl is a 350-foot sailing yacht built for a billionaire who only got to enjoy it for about five years.
After his death in 2021, the billionaire’s family inherited the yacht and listed it across various chartering websites.
Chartering Black Pearl in the winter will set you back €830,000 ($946,000), whereas if you want to rent it in the summer that’ll cost you around $1 million per week.
Expenses and tips aren’t included in the price, by the way.

Amazingly, that’s actually cheap by superyacht standards.
We had a look on the YachtCharterFleet website and Black Pearl is just about the least expensive superyacht of this caliber you can find.
Everything else costs $2 million or even $3 million per week.
This sailing yacht is like a modern-day pirate ship

We don’t know whether Black Pearl was named after the ship of the same name from the Pirates of the Caribbean saga, but that’s certainly possible.
She definitely looks the part.
This 350-foot superyacht spends most of its time in Montenegro, which is where we spotted it.
Other sailing yachts like Koru or ‘A’ (the world’s largest sailing yacht at 468 feet) are bigger but in a yacht beauty contest, we reckon Black Pearl would take the crown.
The yacht is spectacular ‘in the metal’, taller than a skyscraper and more imposing than a monument.

Black Pearl is also incredibly efficient.
In theory, Black Pearl could cross the ocean using nothing but wind power.
In practice, even with the engine in use, she is a lot more fuel efficient than traditional similar-sized yachts.
In 2023, she traveled from Montenegro to St. Barths using 32,000 liters of fuel, which is impressive when you consider most similar yachts would have consumed at least 200,000 liters of fuel.
