BMW has unveiled its first fully electric performance sedan – this is the M Concept Neue Klasse.
The new BMW EV got its big debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Slated to begin production in 2027, the Neue Klasse prototype serves as a roadmap of what we can expect further down the line.
And what has been revealed so far is very exciting.
Here’s what you need to know about the M Concept Neue Klasse
The car is built around an advanced quad-motor eDrive system.
What exactly does that mean? Instantaneous power distribution that utilizes sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells and an 800-volt electrical architecture with a battery capacity exceeding 100kWh.
In short, that’s a whole lot of power.

At the car’s front is a ‘shark nose’ look, with the headlights and kidney grille incorporated into one blend.
Yellow light elements are also included, in what BMW has described as a signature feature for all future BMW M cars.

The back of the car feels just as futuristic, with Track Lights surrounding the diffuser.
“The new BMW M design language forms the expressive spearhead of the Neue Klasse – determined and purposeful,” Oliver Heilmer, Head of Design for BMW Compact Class, Neue Klasse and BMW M, said.
“At BMW M, form consistently follows function. Every detail serves performance. This project is truly special to me because it carries the BMW M character into a new era.”
And the inside looks just as captivating.
This BMW M Concept car’s interior looks it came out of a sci-fi movie
If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought the Neue Klasse’s interior was a shot out of a Tron movie.
Four bucket seats fill the cabin, designed to keep people in place for the car’s full-throttle moments.

As if to emphasize the race car feeling, the five-point belts buckle driver and passengers into place, on seats decked out in Banthurst Blue and Berry Red Merino leather.
It’s a slick design, with plenty of natural fibre materials throughout the structure.
More and more manufacturers are branching out into EVs
BMW has been going strong with its EVs in recent years.
The i3 was revealed back in March, hitting the market with some of the most impressive EV specs ever seen.
Although its arrival signaled the phasing out of the i4, it was for good reason.
And it’s not just BMW that has been expanding into EVs.
Other brands are going down the electric route, from Rolls-Royce to Ferrari.
