This specific airframe arrived during a sudden emergency landing in 1991 and has not moved under its own power for thirty-five years.

A toxic cocktail of skyrocketing parking fees and complex legal injunctions effectively handcuffed the abandoned aircraft to the tarmac indefinitely.

The ghostly stalemate of the Boeing 720s

The plane originally operated for Continental Airlines before shifting to the fleet of Samrat Holdings in the early nineties.

During a routine flight in 1991, an engine failure forced the crew to put the jet down in Nagpur for an emergency inspection.

Technicians quickly realized that the cost to fix or even move this example of the Boeing 720 far outweighed what the plane was actually worth.
