This Bugatti Mistral was made for driving in the sunshine, but someone took it out with an umbrella instead.

There’s nothing like an open-roof car, and the Bugatti Mistral is truly top range in that category.

But the weather isn’t always on our side, and sometimes we need a backup plan.

For this Mistral driver, a handy umbrella proved to be a lifesaver.

The Bugatti Mistral is a stunning car, even by the lofty standards of the French manufacturer.

First unveiled back in 2022, it went into production between 2024 and 2025, with 99 units sold – one of which was delivered to car photographer Dan Wagner.

In November 2024, it became the fastest roadster in the world by achieving a speed of 282MPH.

If there’s one thing you need to know about this car – and you probably don’t need us to tell you – it’s that the Mistral is pricey.

At $5 million per car, you can imagine the type of clientele that was driving these beauties.

Whether driving through Florida or decked out in gold for Monterey Car Week, these cars are the definition of class.

But class doesn’t make you waterproof, as one owner found out.

In a clip shared to Instagram by aspotting37, a Mistral is seen driving near Château de Chantilly, France, in less than ideal weather conditions.

The driver decided to make use of an umbrella to keep himself dry, though.

We can’t say for certain whether this is a Bugatti-branded umbrella, but it’s a smart solution either way.

After all, who wants to be left wet after a drive in their car?

Some cars come with built-in umbrellas, including models from ŠKODA and Rolls-Royce.

ŠKODA didn’t just include umbrellas. It was just one of 60 Simply Clever features, which also included a bottle opener, built-in coat hangers, and a car park ticket holder.

With the way those cars are being made, you won’t be left wanting.

Rolls-Royce’s umbrellas are almost as iconic as the cars at this point.

Okay, maybe that’s a little too far, but they’re still pretty neat.
