A Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing has faced off against a Lamborghini Huracan and a Ford Mustang.

And the encounter ended with a 161mph demolition.

Today’s high-speed matchup is from the state of Pennsylvania.

And one walks away as the clear winner.

Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing takes on all comers

It’s not often that someone mentions Cadillac in the same sentence as Lamborghini.

But that appears to be a trend that might be changing in the car industry.

For one thing, Cadillac’s new $400,000 Celestiq has been making a splash.

So, if nothing else, the American brand certainly belongs within the same price range.

But should it now belong in the same speed bracket, too?

Today’s three-way speed matchup comes to us from the ImportRace YouTube channel.

But the group isn’t taking to the track in their home territory of New Jersey.

Instead, the group is taking part in the RaceMotive’s 65mph roll series of racing.

These rolling-start races take place at Pocono Raceway in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania.

There’s one clear winner

So, how did these series of duels get organized – and who won?

First up is the matchup between the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and a Lamborghini Huracan.

The two cars start off at almost identical speeds – 67mph for the Cadillac, and 68mph for the Lamborghini.

But the acceleration battle was anything but identical.

The Italian supercar had absolutely no answer for the speed of the CT-5 Blackwing.

In fact, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing rolled the Lamborghini Huracan at almost 162mph.

The Lamborghini, on the other hand, topped out at a maximum speed of 142mph.

So, the Italian couldn’t take down the American – but could a rival American be the answer?

The next duel sees the Cadillac take on a Ford Mustang S550.

It turns out that the Mustang actually could have beaten the Lamborghini.

That’s because the Mustang S550 tops out at an impressive 151mph.

But again, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is on a completely different level.

It blows the Mustang S550 away by finishing with a top speed of 161mph.

And the news gets even better for Cadillac fans, too.

The reason for the good news is that General Motors is continuing with the CT5.

That means we have good reason to hope that the CT5-V and Blackwing models will continue.
