This California Highway Patrol officer had a busy Memorial Day weekend after dishing out five separate speeding tickets to five Corvette drivers in one stop.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), all five Corvettes were driving together and well over the speed limit, so all five were slapped with fines from a single officer.

The patrol used it as a way to remind people to drive safely, specifically over big holidays like the Memorial Day weekend.

The internet has reacted to the CHP’s post about the incident in a polarizing way, with some celebrating the warning and others seeing it as showing off and a shameless cash grab.

When you have a Chevy Corvette, it’s no surprise that you want to use it to go fast. But road laws and speed limits do exist, and unfortunately, these five Corvette drivers found this out the hard way.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, a post went viral from the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Facebook account describing an arrest that one of their Highway Patrol officers had made.

The officer hit the motherlode when he spotted five Chevy Corvette drivers speeding at once, managing to pull them all over and give each of them their own speeding tickets and fines.

The quintet of Corvettes was made up of a C7-generation Corvette Stingray and at least two C8-generation Corvettes, and all five were pulled over near Davenport on Highway 1.

The post was shared to raise awareness about higher levels of speeding over the Memorial Day weekend and pretty much every public holiday, as there are more cars out and about on the roads.

There has been a pretty split reaction when it comes to the post, though. Some people were grateful that the CHP had raised awareness about speeding

But others thought that the picture of the stack of fines was distasteful.

Whatever you think of the post, staying safe on the roads is of the utmost importance, especially over busy holiday periods.

Stay safe out there.
