The Tesla Model Y Performance is one of the most powerful EVs on the market, but one man decided to share what he really thought of the ride quality.

When picking a car to be a daily driver, many people want their vehicle to be as comfortable as possible, and one way to judge this is to assess the quality of the ride when the car is in motion

So, after getting a new Tesla Model Y Performance, this content creator revealed what traveling on California roads is really like.

From suspension to added in-cabin features, the Model Y has a lot to offer, but you may be surprised at the true reality of sitting behind the wheel.

The Tesla Model Y Performance – here’s why it is so in demand

The Tesla Model Y is one of the select EVs from the brand that recently received a refresh.

Now on offer as part of the Model Y family are Standard, Premium, and Performance, to suit different drivers and their needs and wants.

The Model Y Performance has ‘redesigned battery cells’, which now means that the range can roam up to a mighty 360 miles.

With added aerodynamic elements, including a longer rear spoiler and new front and rear fascias, alongside Full Self Driving elements, the mid-size SUV is ‘engineered to be the safest car on the road’, according to Tesla itself.

But, how does the ride quality really compare?

Well, DennisCW decided to give his full thoughts on the smoothness of a rise in his Tesla Model Y Performance, and it wasn’t quite plain sailing.

Here’s what he really thought of the ride quality

Now, we should note here that Dennis CW is no stranger to getting behind the wheel of a Tesla, and previously shared how installing PPF on his Tesla Model Y Performance was worth it.

This time, though, he was sharing just how impressed he was with the ride quality of the EV.

“The new Model Y is a lot more comfortable than previous generations,” he said as he took to the Californian roads.

With 10 previous Teslas under his belt, he explained that when buying a Performance car, especially, drivers aren’t choosing it for the ride quality, and you’ll be able to see why.

He explained that you can feel the vehicle jumping around as it is supposed to have sports suspension, but he also came to a big conclusion.

After previously stating that it was 10 percent rougher than a regular Model Y Premium, he now says he has ‘dialled it up’ to around 10 to 20 percent, with unpaved Californian roads proving to be a wild ride.

For prospective buyers, he recommended test-driving different Model Y trims on rougher roads to really understand the car’s operating system.

“It is much better than years before, but it is still going to have some harsh moments in terms of like the bumps,” he concluded.

So, there you have it – the Model Y may not be the smoothest ride, but you have to agree it sure does look like it means business.
