This California man is two years into his Tesla Model S ownership journey.
And he already has serious buyer’s remorse.
Said remorse comes after realizing how much his car is now worth.
And the drop in value is pretty staggering.

This California man is NOT happy with his Tesla
It is entirely possible that you have heard of similar stories to this one today.
And that is because it features a man who is not happy about the drop in value of his Tesla.
Parker Nirenstein is the man in question.
You might know him better as the face and voice of the Vehicle Virgins YouTube channel.
His channel is renowned for giving complete newbies the best advice about cars.
But the tone of today’s video is, well, quite a bit different.
Parker’s latest video kicks off with the presenter extremely unhappy.
And he is unhappy because of the drop in value of his Tesla Model S Plaid.

He explained that he was inspired to post the video after several of his friends made the same remarks.
Parker also noticed the noticeable number of people on social media who echoed his thoughts.
He used to be an enormous Tesla fan, he said.
In fact, he even attended the factory for the launch of the Model S.
Then, when the Plaid launched, Parker explained that it was ‘too fast and too exciting’ not to buy.
What has gone wrong for Parker?
One of Parker’s biggest problems is with the wheels.
Because of camber issues, he has been through five sets of tires.
That equates to a set of tires every 5,000 miles.
After extensively discussing the tires, Parker then moves on to his core problem.
And that problem is the value – or technically, the now lack of value.
The YouTuber paid just over $139,000 back in 2021 when he bought the Model S Plaid.

Less than two years later – in 2023 – a base-spec Tesla Model S Plaid now would cost a touch over $86,000.
That is, as Parker explains, a $42,000 drop in ticket price in just four full years.
The YouTuber then decided to contact Tesla to see what it would offer him as a trade-in.
And the result was… $62,000.
That means that, in the space of 18 months, Parker’s Model S Plaid went from $140,000 to $62,000.
Video ends with a serious warning
Suddenly, the unhappiness starts to make a lot more sense.
The YouTuber also explains that he has a Tesla Cybertruck on order, but he won’t now be taking delivery of it.
This is due to several reasons, mostly the fact that Tesla will likely offer a major price drop 18 months later.
He concludes his video that his EV is the most expensive and worst depreciating car he has ever owned.
This is even factoring in the fact that he has owned a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Of course, cars aren’t often bought as investments.
But Parker urges people to take the depreciation into serious consideration before parting with their cash.
