This guy is living out of his Mazda Miata to explore America, and he’s recently been traveling from Arizona to New Mexico and Texas.

This is not unheard of – a lot of people live the overland life – but it’s definitely unusual to see a Mazda Miata as the protagonist.

Still, this YouTuber has managed the feat by being very smart about his setup.

And there’s at least one element of the Miata that makes it the ideal car for this.

This is how he managed to squeeze everything inside the Miata

A YouTuber who goes by mellow_corner has been living out of his 1995 Mazda MX-5 – or ‘Miata’, as some people call it – for a while.

In his latest video, he explained how he managed to pack everything into the Mazda, and how he set up camp in New Mexico after traveling through Arizona and Texas.

The MX-5 is a very small car, and yet he still managed to stuff everything in it – including some tools, non-perishable food, and sleeping gear.

The Miata is pretty small, but it has at least one redeeming feature: it’s very reliable.

So his overland life may be a little uncomfortable, but he can rest safe in the knowledge that his Miata – hopefully we’re not jinxing it for him – is unlikely to break down.

He’s not alone

Several people prioritized cars over anything else, and then basically built a YouTube career around it.

It’s not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but YouTuber ‘TheStradman’ springs to mind.

By his own admission, he spends every single dime he earns on cars.

And that’s how he ended up with a Bugatti and several Lambos.

But the closest match we can think of is the YouTuber Connor, who goes by Camperghini.

Connor – who’s also from the US – quit his job, sold his house, bought a Lamborghini Urus, and then used it to travel the world.

And he’s still doing it.

According to the latest Instagram post he shared, he’s currently in Kyrgyzstan, a former Soviet republic in Central Asia.

To be fair, a Lamborghini Urus is probably a bit more comfortable than a Miata for that.
