Every month, the Chinese government releases a list of the cars of the future cars that are in development and soon to be released. These are all the future cars in China that are ready to be brought to market, including the Toyota bZ7 and GMW ORA 5.
For years now, China has been upscaling its efforts in the automotive industry, producing a string of world-renowned cars.
We’ve barely even scratched the surface of what the powerhouse tech region has to offer, now that EVs are leading the way.
But we can get a glimpse at the immediate future, as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has shared a monthly update of what Chinese manufacturers have submitted for publishing.

MIIT reveals an exciting lineup of Chinese cars of the future
With Chinese cars gaining traction throughout Europe, at the expense of American brands, it’s a promising time to spot future cars from China that might tickle your fancy.
Thankfully, they’re not in short supply.
In fact, just this month, six brand-new cars were registered with the MIIT, all of which offer different driving experiences.
The full list of future cars from China revealed this month is:
- Toyota bZ7 – a brand-new entrance to the flagship EV series, topped with incredible tech
- GMW ORA 5 – an affordable hatchback with a quirky appearance made by Great Wall Motors (GWM)
- Leapmotor Lafa 5 – a nippy hatchback that will directly compete with the Volkswagen Golf in Europe
- Voyah Taishan 9L – a new luxury SUV that lends a token to Rolls-Royce with its grille
- Baojun Huajing S – an SUV from General Motors and SAIC, which promises plenty of leg room
- iCar V27 – an off-road SUV from Chery Automobile, boasting the look of a Land Rover

The obvious draw here is the Toyota. The new bZ7 is set to be the cornerstone for Toyota’s new EV range, and it’s being especially crafted by a Chinese partner to ensure it has a smarter hub than anything in the current crop that the Japanese carmaker boasts.
The GMW ORA 5 is especially noticeable, too, as its manufacturer is renowned for some wacky cars.
But having seemingly knuckled down on a premium sedan and a promising supercar, this new hatchback is focused on performance, rather than standing out from the crowd with eccentric looks.
What else is coming in the distant future?
Of course, this list only documents cars that have been registered with the MIIT this month.
There’s a lot more that have already been registered, or that are in the pipeline and are yet to submit a publishing request.
Namely, last month, the audacious Zeekr 9X was added, which promises to be a 1,381hp monster SUV with the largest hybrid battery ever made.
The Zeekr 001 FR has not been listed, but is reportedly in production to be the first Chinese car to exceed 2,000hp.
Other supercars like the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra are still at the prototype stage, and mass-produced SUVs like the Xiaomi YU7 are preparing to be shipped.
Other notable cars releasing in China soon include exports from Hyundai, with the Elexio, and Ford, with the Bronco.

The cars of the future in China are forming an extremely strong lineup, and they should soon become available around Europe.
As for America, well, that could be happening soon too…
