Wrecked Tesla Model 3 is reborn as a track monster

California tuner, Unplugged Performance, has salvaged a wrecked Tesla Model 3 from the junkyard and turned it into a track monster.
It’s scary and dark, and also extremely fast.

It all started with a spectacular crash at the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event event that nearly ‘killed’ this Tesla.
The car was deemed beyond repair but Unplugged Performance, a tuning company that specializes in Tesla vehicles, saw potential for a huge comeback.

Aptly called Bionic Phoenix, this Tesla Model 3 is now basically a pumped up terminator-style racer.
It doesn’t look particularly pretty or subtle, but that’s exactly the point because it was redesigned as a powerful brute.
They started by removing about 550 lbs of extra weight from the car and fitting a massive rear wing.
The body was badly damaged, too, and that’s why Unplugged decided to go all in by fitting new carbon fiber panels, new flared wheel arches and new enclosed headlights.
And then they removed all air vents, just for good measure.
According to Unplugged, the Bionic Phoenix is now capable of generating more than 4,000 pounds of downforce.
For the record, a Formula One car can typically ‘only’ generate 1,650 lbs.
There are two cherries on top of this particular cake: the new 19-inch forged wheels on Yokohama tires and the new seating layout.
The company turned this SUV into a single-seater racer.
There’s only one seat and it is located right at the center of the cabin, like a McLaren F1 or the Gordon Murray T.50.
Performance figures haven’t been revealed yet but the Model 3 was no slouch to begin with.
