The Cayman in question here was a shabby-looking ride that had been sitting in one place for a while.

YouTuber Sam from the channel Samcrac saw this Porsche Cayman in an auction, and it was ‘dirt cheap.’

Although buying something like this in running condition can be tempting, you never know the issues that it might bring along.

However, Sam noticed something in the listing’s photos that made him spend his money, and it turned out to be an extremely rewarding bet.

There were red pipes underneath the car, which Sam quickly found out were part of a Porsche Turbo Kit.

That’s right, this ‘dirt cheap’ Porsche Cayman was hiding a $12,000 turbocharger, which made it worthy of its investment.

This wasn’t the first time Sam hit the jackpot — he has multiplied his investments by buying used cars before.

For instance, he once bought a ‘dead’ Porsche SUV for $700 and fixed it easily.

There was also a ‘dead’ Tesla he purchased for $10,000 and instantly doubled its value.

Now that we’ve established that he has a knack for this stuff, this Porsche came with its own issues.

His new car’s exhaust sent out smoke whenever the turbocharger kicked in, hinting toward a potentially huge fault.

Sam managed to put it on a lift and inspect the turbocharger unit itself.

He had to take it all apart, and the first red flag was the tremendous amount of oil leakage everywhere.

After he disassembled the turbo unit, it was clear that it needed to be rebuilt because that’s where all the unwanted oil was coming from.

He came across a turbo rebuild kit for $23 and waited for it to arrive.

It only took him a few hours to rebuild the entire thing and put it back in the Porsche Cayman.

Not long after, this Cayman was smoke-free again.

All things considered, it was a rewarding bet, and it was certainly an incredible sight to see the turbocharger rolling as it should.
