This man bought the cheapest 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG he could find on the internet but found a surprise issue he wasn’t aware of during purchase.

The car originally went for £5,000 ($6,196), but after negotiating it came down to £4,500 ($5,577).

At that price, it was one of the cheapest V8 AMG in the country.

However, a price tag like that usually comes with a few caveats.

Edwin Klinkenberg Evans from the Top Dead Center YouTube Channel bought the car to use as a daily driver for winter.

The best thing about the 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG was that it featured a naturally aspirated 5.4L V8 engine that produced 360hp.

That’s a very big engine in a car this small.

According to Evans’ co-host, Will Chandler, it was a ‘sleeper’ car with minimal outward indication of its performance.

However, it also came with a few issues including rust, peeling paint, and a taped-up bumper due to a prior accident.

That’s what you should expect when buying a used car, but if you find a good deal, here are a few tips to always keep in mind.

The real problem

Despite being so old, it also had a very nice voice activation feature, comparable to those in more modern cars.

However, there were a few more serious issues with the car.

The first was that the gearbox had a delayed response time and the manual mode didn’t work very well.

“Then there’s the engine issue and the only thing that it goes through faster than petrol is oil,” Evans said.

According to him, he had to change engine oil every 250 miles, which he said was unusual for a Mercedes.

Despite these issues, Evans said he grew to like the 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG.

He also planned to upgrade it to a manual gearbox and a supercharged engine if the current components failed.
