Chevrolet has hinted at a comeback for the Camaro.
The last Camaro – a ZL1 1LE manual – came out in December 2023, and a successor hasn’t been named since.
General Motors’ president admitted that muscle cars were on the decline.
But don’t be so hasty to write the Camaro off yet – there is still a chance it could come back.

The Camaro may be due to return, according to Chevrolet
We all love a comeback story, don’t we?
We haven’t seen a new Camaro in nearly two years now, and there’s been no indication from Chevrolet about when we can expect to see another one.
That may lead many to think that it’s extinct, as muscle cars have been on the decline in general.

However, the president of GM, Mark Reuss, hinted that it could come back one day.
But it’s by no means a promise.
He was speaking to The Detroit News when he made the comments.
For him, the Camaro held fond memories as a 1967 model was his first ever car.
When he was asked if it could ever come back, he gave a somewhat cryptic answer.
“I think that formula of beauty — and a little bit of functionality and fun — all of that is important,” he said.

“If we were getting back into Camaro, that piece of it is really important. That segment is declining — I think they sold more Mach-Es than they did Mustangs.
“I think that would be a great formula, and we have the ability to do that.”
So there you have it – not a yes, not a no.
Not even a maybe.
It’s not much for Camaro fans to hang their hopes on, but it’s something.
Other cars that have made a comeback
We’ve seen a lot of cars come and go over the years, it’s the nature of the automotive industry.
But it’s still a nice treat when a car comes back after a long time away.

Even when the ‘worst car in history’ returned, it was a nice surprise.
Other cars that got a big homecoming include the Supermini, the Audi Quattro, and the Nissan Micra.
Will the Camaro be joining those ranks soon?
Only time will tell.
